3000 Lesbians Go to York is the story of a Queer Arts Festival. This 2025 documentary film, and accompanying book by Jane Traies, chronicles the York Lesbian Arts Festival (YLAF), a major LGBTQ+ event held from 1998 to 2008. 

The project highlights how thousands of women gathered in the city for literature, music, and community, celebrating a significant, yet often overlooked, era of British queer history.

Part of Iris on the Move. Iris on the Move is the annual touring showcase from the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival, bringing award-winning short films to venues across the UK.
